A Manager in the Human Resource practice will have significant responsibility for project management, client management, solution design and implementation, and generation of project results. They are responsible for working with client executives to maintain the appropriate client support and momentum. As a manager one is also responsible for mentoring the analysts and associates on the project team and helping them develop by providing necessary direction. Job Details: Managers in the HR consulting practice have the following responsibilities: Provide leadership to both consulting and client personnel to identify, quantify, implement and measure specific improvement initiatives Lead and focus team efforts in data gathering and analysis, data interpretation, process design and formulating conclusions and recommendations. Lead team efforts in developing solutions to difficult or complex client situations to ensure goals and objectives are met. Assist in developing work plans and coordinating daily fieldwork and project team activities. Participate in practice management which includes tools, methodologies, recruiting, people development and proposals as appropriate. Conduct client interviews related to data analysis, data interpretation, and process design. Communicate effectively with all levels of client management, including C-suite client leadership. Monitor scope of client expectations surrounding delivery of generated results. Assist in preparation of final drafts of major reports. Utilize proprietary tracking tools to measure project progress, benefits provided to clients, and achievement of budget expectations. Effectively direct, coach, motivate and evaluate analysts and associates.
BS/BA degree in business or related field or higher degree in Human Resource Management preferred. 7+ years experience in compensation with a hospital, healthcare system, and/or academic medical center is required. Consulting firm experience with same healthcare entities as clients highly preferred. Non healthcare related experience, i.e. manufacturing, financial services, retail, distribution, etc is not applicable and does not meet the experience requirement. Broad based compensation experience including: designing ST and LT incentive programs that reinforce clients' strategic objectives; premium pay structure, utilization analysis and costing of potential changes; development of compensation strategies, philosophies and programs that address client's attraction and retention needs and align pay with performance; and executive compensation. Union labor management costing and union labor negotiations experience is a plus. SPHR or CEBS preferred. Project Management experience including creating work plans, budgets, managing budget to actual, and goal setting/benchmarks. Experience supervising project teams and co-workers and ability to coach and mentor staff Ability to actively manage and deliver on client expectations around project activities, timelines, deliverables, outcomes, etc. Ability to provide targeted communication, both verbal and written, to internal and external constituents. Proven analytical and process redesign skills, including problem solving, quantitative reasoning, workflow process, etc. Ability to work with a diverse group of professionals and personalities in a team environment. Possess the following skill sets: o detailed oriented o solid written and documentation skills o excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills o ability to work independently as well as in a team environment o desire to do meaningful work and make a difference Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Outlook. Ability to make the following minimum travel commitment: Monday - Thursday on-site at client location/Friday home office - each/every week.
