As part of the Research Office team, the Clinical Research Billing Specialist plays an important role in the analytics of billed items and services provided to research subjects enrolled in clinical trials. You will determine the degree to which claims comply with government regulations which will be used to guide compliant billing for Huron’s clients. Your high attention to detail will make you successful conducting post-billing audits to inform clients when they have not been compliant with Medicare Clinical Trial Policies (NDC 310.1) and other regulations to determine to recommend payment corrections on funds they are not entitled to.
You will grow your knowledge of clinical research regulations by researching and analyzing industry trends which you’ll present to the Huron team for training opportunities. There will also be opportunities to take on other projects such as conducting charge segregation, developing coverage analysis and clinical trial budgets. You’ll be part of the Huron Higher Education team with opportunities to collaborate, learn and grow while impacting some of the most prestigious higher education institutions. - Current permanent U.S. work authorization required
- Bachelor’s degree in a health/science related discipline (biology, public health, healthcare administration, nursing, etc.), or equivalent professional experience
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in coding or billing in a hospital setting
- Experience with the Medicare Clinical Trial Policy (NCD 310.1) and other applicable research billing rules
- Experience in hospital revenue cycle processes, including patient registration, charge entry, and claims processing
- Experience in healthcare compliance, general healthcare billing compliance, research billing, or research billing compliance
